All About The Blogger

I’m Katherine, I’m 32  years old, and from the UK. I’ve always loved reading. I created this blog to share my love of reading with the world. At present I’m writing a book about my life as a person with disabilities. I have spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus , and am registered legally   blind, and an electric wheelchair user. My other loves in life are my fiancée , Alfredo and my family’s cat , Tala. I’m also a real shopaholic , and a fashion and beauty addict. I spread awareness of my disabilities and others though my Facebook page. I’m a very chatty, open person and really value those who value me . My hope for the future is to publish my autobiography and write books aimed at disabled children and  young adults.

When I was born  I  was born with my identical twin  three months premature. The doctors told my parents to expect the worst, and that if  we survived, We would  each be a vegetable. My sister and I were in the NICU for months, and on ventilators for 2 weeks from the moment we were born. We were not expected to survive the next few hours, let alone the night. When we were 6 hours old, we were  transferred to another hospital way across  London, as we would be etter cared for there because the hospital we were born at did not have the facilities needed  to care for us. We were not expected to come off the ventilators. We fought , and on new year’s eve, my sister passed away. I was still extremely ill but I came off the ventilator.

When I finally came  home I could not hold my head up, see,  move or  swallow. When I was two, I went to playgroup at Chailey Heritage Special School in Sussex where I had therapy . From then on, I went to a private school for a term and then I went to mainstream school but with personal assistants . I went on to study at Swansea University for a year  and  graduated from Reading University  with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Geography n 2004.

I have a sister called Nicola who’s 30 years old and a graphic designer. I am  engaged to, and in a civil partnership with, Luis Alfredo Perez Soto , and we plan to marry and have children in the very near future. I am also a blogger. You can find my  personal blogs here :

I also have an author blog:
